The power of Thomas the Tank Engine!

Oh my god, I just had a wonderful moment in my life! I was busy trying to get Paypal re-setup (looks like they have changed the way it is done because I could no longer transfer funds) and Caroline says to me that she thinks Elsie has a new favourite program.

I turn round to see the most amazing look on my daughters face as she points to the screen, you don’t get much better than that :D

She was stood there absolutely mesmorised at the screen, pointing at the little characters on the screen and touching the trains as they came towards her. I know it is probably bad for your eyes standing as close as she was but I’ll let it pass, seeing that look on her face has just made my day :D

Just thought I would share the moment, very special and that is a testament to the power of Thomas the Tank Engine…

My God-son is obsessed with all things “Tom”.
He’s got pretty much all the DVDs, all the characters in toy form and has even named his new kitten “Tom” (I think he would have even if it was a girl cat). His first 3 fish were all named after Tank Engines too.

It’s obviously a testament of time too - I remember watching Thomas when I was a kid. It’s certainly kept Ringo Star in a job for longer than he imagined. ;)

For sure man, I remember watching it when I was younger too… I was going to go into that but decided just to write a quick post becuase it was more about the look on Elsies face and sharing that moment…

    Perhaps Thomas deserves more ;-)

A wonderful tale to lead into the weekend. I’m not sure how old your daughter is but it must have been a magical moment. Matilda, my beautiful little 8 month old scamp can easily be tamed by the animation for ‘I See A Song’ by Eric Carle - A mesmerising, hippy-surreal, swirling animation set to sprightly violin music. It only lasts a few minutes but in that time, she is silent!

Andrew: My daughter is nearly 2 but I have never seen her respond to a program quite like that. I am sure it has something to do with the perspective they shoot the program with…

Gonna look up that animation, sounds cool!
