3 days and still going strong…
January 5th, 2006 | 9 Comments
Just thought I would let you know that I am just about to hit the sack at the end of day 3 without smoking
Day 1 was a nightmare, Day 2 was so so… Day 3 well it’s just another day in the life of a non smoker and that’s all I have to say…
Sweet Dreams!

Keep it up, my man, keep it up. I’ve been smoking since I was thirteen and I regret it everyday. It’s one day at a time, really. It’s after dinner and breaks from work that are killer. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks man, I appreciate the encouragement as it is probably the hardest thing I will ever have to do… Doing not too bad though, approaching the 2 week mark and have managed to deal with any urges / pangs…
It’s really bizzare, the strongest pangs have been when I have put the baby down for the night. I usually get in from work, feed and bath the baby then put her down so it is usually nuts from the second I get in the door, maybe that was my most relaxing smoke of the day???
Anyway, I don’t smoke anymore so nuff said

i quit at new year too, i’ve had about 20 or so since then, but i’ve not been beating myself up about or anything. if you have any setbacks make sure and stay positive. its not the end of the world, it doesnt mean you haven’t quit, it just means you had a weak moment and you can try and make it not happen next time.
Anyway, best of luck, you seem to have got it sussed!
i’ll try and fire off an email to you later on, would be good to talk shop a bit
cheers, have a good day.

I guess I should have made an update on the subject before now but I too have had a couple of relapses but as you say, there is no point beating myself up about it.
My thinking is that I am still here on Tuesday after having a cigarette or 2 at the weekend whilst I was playing back home and I haven’t smoked at all since that night. I do know it’s a slippery slope though, I have been there before, this time however, I am going to treat it as progressive weening!!!
On the shop front, I am always interested in geek speak so look forward to hearing from you but right now it is back to the grind stone for me…
Cheers

I’m not a smoker, never have been, never will be. But I hate when I see smart (or even brilliant) people smoking.
I’m glad to hear/read that you’re trying to quit. Know that we’re all pulling/praying for you.

Hey Jennifer
Congrats on the stopping smoking!!! Keep it up!!! Has Simon stopped too? I find it hard with Caz still smoking, she doesn’t seem to *get it* that although I put up with it, I still find it hard even smelling smoke… especially in the house!
I passed on that you are trying to get in contact, her phone is working again (was out of action for months) so it is maybe worth trying to phone her again, failing that I have mailed you her email addy.
Nice to hear from ya
